Under the auspices of the Minister of Environment, Mr. Mohammed Rahhal, the President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, Eng. Nabil El-Jisr, participated in the launching ceremony of the second session of the Environment Fund in Lebanon, which is designed to provide proposals and projects to reduce the environmental risks and the economic repercussions in areas affected by the July war and other undeveloped areas and to support the initiatives of the private sector which aim to improve the environmental and economic performance of those areas.
In addition to Eng. Nabil El-Jisr, the opening ceremony which was held in the Monroe Hotel was also attended by the sponsor of the event, the Minister of Environment Mr. Mohammed Rahhal, the German Ambassador in Lebanon Mrs. Birgitta Siefker-Eberle and the Director of the German Cooperation Agency GTZ in Syria and Lebanon Dr. Magdy El-Menshawi.
Eng. El-Jisr spoke about the second session projects, pointing out that this stage will be allocated to projects which follow cleaner production measures to reduce water pollution caused by industrial institutions.
