The Minister of Environment Mr. Nazem Khoury inaugurated the agenda of the Lebanese - Germany Environmental Forum which is organized by the Lebanese Environment Fund in the UNESCO palace in the presence of The President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, Eng. Nabil El-Jisr, Mr. Michael Berhof representing the German Ambassador in Lebanon, Ms. Brigita Vicker - Eberly, the Director of the German office for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Syria and Lebanon, Dr. Thomas Engelhart, a delegation from the Federation of Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon, and a number of heads of municipalities, private institutions, associations, students and civil society institutions.
The forum aims to present projects of the Environment Fund in Lebanon and to focus on the achievements of 30 institutes whose environmental projects were funded by the Fund and executed in response to an environmental initiative at the local level and with the cooperation of municipalities, private institutions and associations. Words were given on the occasion. The President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, Eng. Nabil El-Jisr praised the performance of the working group of the Environment Fund, saying that the program funded by the German government should serve as a guide for other projects in this country in order to conform to the necessities of green economies.
