The Prime Minister Mr. Saad Al-Hariri sponsored the signing ceremony of two financing agreements between Lebanon and the European Union. The first is allotted to enhance the competitiveness in the private sector and is worth 14 million Euros and the second is to finance the project to modernize the Lebanese judicial system and is worth 10 million Euros. The first agreement was signed by Mr. Mohammed Fneish, the Minister of Administrative Development on behalf of the Lebanese side and the second agreement was signed by Mr. Ibrahim Najjar the Justice Minister and Mr. Suhail Bougy the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers as the Council is the executing body for the project to strengthen the competitive capability of the private sector. Those two documents were signed by the President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction Eng. Nabil El-Jisr and from the European Union were signed by Mr. Markus Cornaro, Director of Directorate "Europe, Southern Mediterranean, Middle East and Neighborhood Policy", in the Cooperation Office of the European Commission. The signing ceremony was also attended by the European Union Ambassador in Lebanon Mr. Patrick Laurent and a delegation from the European Union.
