“Economy Sector Co-ordinator – Interviewer – Pollster”
Local Short-Term Expert (LSTE)
Job outline: Assistant to the team (preparing the Action Programme of the
Wazzani – Hasbani Basin) with special focus on the economy sector, though
possibly providing administrative support to the international expert team
beyond the field of the Economy sector; this is an expert position, working
semi-independently towards well defined objectives, and providing support as
requested on short notice.
Reporting to: The senior economy expert and the MSC-CDR Team Leader
Counterpart: the EC Delegation in Beirut

Starting on early
February 2003
a) Keep active communication channels with
stakeholders and sources of information (such as Ministries, local
administration and municipalities) in the economy area
b) Provide research support to the senior
expert team, as requested
c) Refine the milestones and work packages
in the concerned sector, for preparing the Action Programme of the Wazzani –
Hasbani Basin, and formalise the corresponding work plan, possibly using the
Critical Path Method and appropriate software
d) provide administrative support to the team
as requested

Close liaison
with all parties concerned and sources of information in the economy, area
·
Close working
relationship with the Ministries involved, local authorities and municipalities
of the Wazzani – Hasbani Basin
Education ,Qualifications
and Abilities:
·
Degree in
economics
·
Exposure to
technical aspects of the sector assignment is a definite asset
·
Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work at ministerial
/ executive levels, as well as at professional / staff levels.
Professional
Experience :
·
two years as
administrator, project manager or executive assistant, in Lebanese and
preferably international environment
·
acquaintance
with land and water management and agriculture sectors,
·
proficiency in
word processing, spreadsheet and database software programmes
Language skills :
·
Proficiency in
written and spoken English, French and Arabic
Lebanese
citizenship required.
