“Senior IT SQL/Server
Expert”
Local or International
Short-Term Expert (LSTE or ISTE)
Job outline: The SQL/Server system implementation Expert
is to assist the CDR divisions in upgrading the CDR Information Systems,
technically and functionally, and to rationalize the process for bringing
continuing improvements to the same systems.
Reporting to: the MSC-CDR Team Leader
Counterpart: the MSC-CDR Team
the CDR IT department
Duration
of the assignment and Time Table:

Two
man-months with possible extension
·
Starting
in March 2003
a)
Analyse
the existing MS/Access Project Management Information System (PMIS) application
at CDR to identify possible difficulties for migration (field names,
relationships…)
b)
Convert
the Access system to SQL client server applications
c)
Implement
the data entry forms, queries and reports
d)
Test
and upgrade as need be during the implementation stage
e)
Implement
the new applications on the operational server(s) and 200 client PC’s
f)
Assist
CDR IT department on data migration
g)
Ensure
interface with mail and decision management MS/Access applications
h)
Assist
CDR for any problems emerging during a six-months period after migration
i)
Document
the work
Duties
and outputs will be refined by technical notes before and during the
assignment.
PMIS
MS/Access application migrated to SQL/Server engine implemented, tested and
running
Migration
of all existing data in the new DB
Documentation
of the system to enable its maintenance
