Construction Of Tripoli WEST RING ROAD (TWRR)

 Invitation For Bidding

 

 

The Republic of Lebanon represented by the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) wishes to receive bids for the Construction of the Tripoli West Ring Road Project.

 

The Government of Lebanon has received a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) towards the cost of construction of the proposed Tripoli West Ring Road Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to partial payments under the contract for which this Invitation for Bidding is issued.

 

The proposed TWRR is an urban boulevard facility consisting of 3 lanes in each direction with shoulder and sidewalk, with an approximate total length of 6km.  It includes the provision of frontage roads, overpasses, underpasses and river crossings.  The total ROW width for the urban boulevard  is between 36m and 40m.

 

Bidding is open to firms and joint ventures from eligible Lebanese and foreign companies from the European Union or elsewhere. Award of the contract will be subject to verification of the bidder’s financial capacity to carry out the works at the time of award.

 

A minimum requirement for qualification will be to have successfully carried out in the last five years as main Contractor roads and bridges construction projects of a total amount of 35 Million EUROS with at least one of them of a minimum amount of 14 Million EUROS, with an average annual turnover in construction works of 7 Million EUROS per year during the last five years.

 

Applicants may obtain the bidding documents from CDR offices against the sum of US$ 5,000 (five thousand) in the form of a banker's certified cheque in the name of the Council for Development and Reconstruction.

 

Submission of bids must be received in sealed envelopes, which must be delivered to the Council for Development and Reconstruction - Tallet Al Serail - Beirut – Lebanon; Tel: 961-1980096  FAX: 961-1981255, not later than 12:00 o’clock noon, Beirut local time Tuesday, February 26^th 2008, and be clearly marked: CONSTRUCTION OF TRIPOLI WEST RING ROAD (TWRR). The bids will be opened at the CDR in a public session at the same mentioned date and time.
